YSL Touche Eclat

A highlighter pen is something that I will always have in my makeup collection. My favourite is the YSL Touche Eclat or Radiant Touch. I love the luxe gold packaging (even though it attracts dirty finger marks) and the pen dispenser makes it nearly foolproof. I usually wear this underneath my eyes, over the top of some concealer, or just on it's own if I'm feeling lazy. I apply it in a triangle underneath my eye (see here for a demo by Zoe Foster) and dab (never wipe) it in with my ring finger. I love this product as it gives a really natural look to my makeup and it's super easy to touch up (not to mention, it makes a big difference). I find that this product does crease under my eye but if I set it with a translucent powder it stays perfect forever.

I have always worn the Touche Eclat in shade 1 which is a peach toned highlighter. Recently, I picked up number 2 as it was in a gift set. Shade 2 is light enough for me, yet it is not nearly as peach toned. Shade 1 is on the left, shade 2 is on the right. I use shade 2 in the same way as shade 1, but it doesn't brighten my eyes so much.

This product is on the expensive side ($55) but it's worth it, one tube of this stuff  lasts for aaaages. I have bought some for about $30 from Chemist Warehouse before, but after comparing the packaging with ones bought from YSL I'm not 100% sure about it's authenticity so I will be buying from YSL in the future. I've heard that Maybelline do a product which is a great dupe for this so I will probably try that one out once I've finished the one I own now. If anyone has tried this out I'd love to know!

  1. I really want to try this! I have the Maybelline Lumi touch so I want to see how similar they are. I like the Lumi touch but I feel it's lacking something. I wish it was thinner. It's borderline thick/cakey xx

    1. Oh thanks for your feedback Coco. The YSL one is quite thin, I never find it to be cakey!

  2. Have never tried this out but I have tried the Body Shop Lightening Touch! I love my highlighters. I don't really like the pen design though because I struggle with the amount. I tend to overturn it and then there's too much, if not there's too little. It must be me though lol

    1. Thanks for your comment Mandy! The YSL one is really great because each click just dispenses a little amount!

  3. I haven't tried the Maybelline Lumi but Clarins makes a great Instant Light Brush-On Perfector that's about $37 and I love it!
