I'm breaking up with liquid eyeliner
I love liquid liner. Or perhaps I should say that I love the look of liquid liner. That thick, black line ending in a little flick? Perfection. However, I find that on me, it is basically impossible to achieve. It is especially impossible at 7 in the morning when I am usually doing my makeup. On the off chance that I get one eye right, the other is always an asymmetrical mess, and I usually smudge them too. So now I'm done.
I recently posted about my Topshop Magic Liner which is absolutely amazing. I've also rediscovered gel liners and I'm loving the Maybelline one. The one exception to my liquid liner aversion may be the Illamasqua Precision Ink, I have mine in Wisdom which is a gorgeous khaki bronzey shade and surprisingly easy to apply for an eyeliner novice like me. I am seriously considering picking up the black one on my upcoming holiday but I'm not sure if I'm just setting myself up for failure.

urgh, I know what you mean! I can get one to look good - but then the flick on the other eye is ALWAYS askew. Have been thinking about just using gel liner which I used to love but then fell to the wayside... love pencils for smoky, but sometimes you just want a fab flick!
ReplyDeleteYes! I just rediscovered my gel liners! I like pencil too but I find that is easy to screw up too!
DeleteI have yet to get eyeliner just right at ALL! Bravo for trying!
ReplyDeleteOh no it takes a lot of practise! I used to be able to do it but I've lost it somehow!
DeleteI no the feeling of one good one bad lol xx

I feel the same about liquid eyeliner. I'm a gel eyeliner and cream eyeliner gal ALL THE WAY- I prefer using my own eyeliner brush rather than the applicator that comes with liquids generally.
ReplyDeleteOh that's a good idea, I've never tried to do liquid with a brush. I will have to try that out.
DeleteI usually use a felt tip eyeliner, I find they give you so much more control. I'm hopeless with anything that's really liquid and has a floppy, thin wand :p
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I'm not the only one who struggles with them!
DeleteLiquid liner is so hard! Do you have the Models Prefer corrector pen? I use that to clean up the mess from my liner application, it works really well.
ReplyDeleteOoh no I don't have that. I will have to check that out!
